Assalamualaikum.......
And.... how are you today!?..... Hope that all of you are fine, ok...? Here is my story for today.... it's about Toknggal, you know. She's an old lady of about.... say..... nearly seventy .... I guess. She's not big in size .... looking very ordinary in the eyes of most us, I think... She's always smiling when we bump into her .... (yea la.... kan we know each other..... apa lah...).
She's one of our lady members in Surau of our kampung... just like Tokmah, Toksu, Tokma, Toknun, Toklah, Toktun, Kakmek, Cikmah, Kakmah and few others.... What is so special about her.....?? Yea... what is so special abut her!!...... That is, because she always comes to the Surau bringging her three grandchildren with her.... Always....! The elders of the three is agirl of nine.... called Noor... The other two are boys age four and three.... She's the only one grandma who always bring her cucu-cucu/grandchilden constantly...
All those cucu are very lucky, I am sure... of course they are.... Having grandpa and grandma as a support systems in family life nowdays seems not very popular anymore. Many young married couples or young families choose to live alone without old folks anymore for many reasons... In a way, it's seems natural and good for them to handle their life independently..... Tokma & Tokbah also live and raised our family ourselves, separated from our olds since our marriage time .....we live far away from them and we only meet sometimes..... Bur now, sad to say....Tokma can feel the lack of love that bounce betwen our children and their grandparents....... although of cource they all happy when they both meet.
Back to Toknggal and the cucu-cucu..... In surau, the girl Noor can finely performs her prayers like Solat Fardhu, and beside that.. Noor also always performs the Solat Sunat Rawatib which has not been done by many olds. The young todlers now always bring their books and pens&pencils to the Surau and grandma Toknggal handle them quietly during The Teaching Session by Tokbah that is held between Solat Maghrib and Solat Isyak.... At home, these children learn their Qur'an Reading and Praying Lessons from Toknggal herself.... Toknggal handwriting in Jawi is also very beautiful.... as in her young age she was educate at Al-Khairiyyah Arabic School.....But then she leads herlife as a traditionaly housewife only......
It is nice to be a fungtional and useful grandma .... isn't it......? Life will be much colourful and happier......... yeah!!...... I like it....... ump!......
